What is an onomatopoeia? How is it useful in writing? These questions will be answered with this project.
Onomatopoeias are words that sound like the objects they name or the sounds these objects make. Some examples are "crash" and "hiss". Onomatopoeias are used in writing to describe something better. These words add a lot of description to stories and can turn a boring paper into an exciting paper.

Here is a sentence without an onomatopoeia: "The food cooked in the pan."
Now, here is the same sentence using an onomatopoeia: " The food sizzled in the pan."
These sentences are the same except for one uses an onomatopoeia. The sentence with the onomatopoeia is more exciting and is more descriptive.
